The toe poke

In futsal a defender is always close, so players shoot with the toe: it needs almost no backswing. Toe Poke Finish trains exactly that.

The coach’s tip

Strike through the middle of the ball with a short swing, and keep the shot low.

In a school gym in the evening, a teenage girl pokes a ball low towards a two-cone goal against the wall with the toe of her shoe.

Train it: Toe Poke Finish

Shoot with the toe of the shoe into a small gate against a wall, from a still ball and then a rolling one: the quick finish futsal players use when a defender is close.

10 minutes, one player; 1 soccer ball, 2 cones.
